Engage Financial
A high-performance, fully compliant corporate web presence engineered for one of Ireland's leading award-winning financial brokerages. Regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland and operating from Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Engage Financial Solutions required a platform that could serve first-time buyers, mortgage switchers, retirement planners, and business clients — all while maintaining absolute institutional trust and strict GDPR compliance across every data touchpoint.
The Corporate Brief.
Engage Financial Solutions is a Central Bank of Ireland regulated brokerage (CRO No. 764570), operating under Managing Directors David Moore and Des Dillion from their offices at 14–18 Main Street, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The firm provides a comprehensive suite of financial services — mortgages, life and income protection insurance, retirement planning, wealth management, savings, and investments — serving both individual and business clients across Ireland.
As Lead Developer, my responsibility extended far beyond standard template implementation. I was tasked with restructuring the entire CMS architecture from the ground up, engineering multi-step conversion funnels for each service vertical, and ensuring strict GDPR and Central Bank of Ireland compliance across all digital data collection points. The platform needed to perform as an authoritative institutional presence while remaining effortlessly navigable for clients at every financial life stage.
Service Architecture.
The site was architected around Engage's full product range — a deep and complex service tree that needed to be navigable by both first-time buyers exploring a mortgage for the first time and experienced investors managing retirement portfolios. I structured the entire content hierarchy to make this breadth of offering feel organised rather than overwhelming:
Each service area has its own dedicated landing page with tailored conversion pathways — ensuring a first-time buyer lands on a page designed specifically for their needs, while a business owner researching group protection is taken on an entirely different, contextually appropriate journey.
UX & CMS Structuring.
A regulated financial brokerage demands meticulous attention to data hierarchy, institutional trust signals, and user flow. Working closely with the firm's requirements, I executed a complete restructuring of the site's architecture across three primary workstreams:
Conversion-Optimised Routing
Dedicated high-converting funnels for Mortgage Switching, First-Time Buyers, Retirement Planning, and Life Insurance — each with tailored CTAs, structured content hierarchy, and a persistent "Book an Appointment" pathway throughout.
Scalable Service Architecture
A custom post-type system allowing the Engage team to update financial products, team biographies, and market insights autonomously — eliminating any developer dependency for future content changes.
Compliance Infrastructure
A dedicated, secure framework built for CBI-required regulatory documents — Terms of Business, Data Privacy Notice, and Commission disclosures — all instantly accessible and correctly structured for regulatory compliance.
Multi-Lender Presentation
Structured lender panel presentation across Bank of Ireland, AIB, Haven, Avant Money, ICS, TSB, MoCo, and CapitalFlow — positioning Engage's market access as a core value proposition over going direct to a single bank.
Team Architecture
Individual profiles for Managing Directors David Moore and Des Dillion — with Google Review integration surfacing 51 verified client reviews directly within the site to build immediate trust with prospective clients.
Online Application Integration
Seamless integration with the firm's external application portal (efs.onlineapplication.io) — embedded throughout the navigation and key service pages to drive direct application conversion.
Engineering Security & Data.
The core technical challenge was engineering a highly secure, frictionless environment for capturing sensitive client financial data — without relying on vulnerable third-party plugins. Operating in a regulated financial services context, every data touchpoint required careful consideration of both security and legal compliance:
Secure Lead Generation & Conditional Routing
- Intelligent form routing: Custom conditional-routing contact architecture built so enquiry data is encrypted and instantly directed to the specific specialist — mortgage enquiries to Danny or David, pension queries to the relevant MD — reducing response times and improving lead-to-client conversion.
- GDPR-compliant data capture: All contact forms engineered with explicit consent mechanisms, data minimisation principles, and compliant storage — in line with both GDPR requirements and Central Bank of Ireland consumer protection obligations.
- "Book an Appointment" CTA: Persistent throughout the site — in the navigation, hero sections, and service pages — driving the firm's preferred high-value conversion action at every opportunity.
Performance Engineering
- Core Web Vitals optimisation: Aggressive caching strategies, script minification, and self-hosted asset delivery implemented to meet Google's performance criteria — critical for a professional audience with high bounce-rate sensitivity.
- High-resolution asset scaling: Custom CSS frameworks applied to ensure partner and lender logos (AIB, Bank of Ireland, Avant Money, ICS, Haven, TSB, MoCo, CapitalFlow, Zurich) render correctly across all devices at institutional quality.
- Mobile-first architecture: Fully responsive across all breakpoints — ensuring the platform performs for clients researching financial products on mobile, which represents a significant proportion of financial services traffic in Ireland.
Automated Market Insights CMS
- Integrated news feed: An automated CMS news architecture engineered to allow the consultancy to publish and categorise market insights, interest rate updates, and investment strategies — automatically propagating across the homepage and service pages to maintain platform dynamism and SEO freshness.

Key Observations.
Trust is the Primary Conversion Variable in Financial Services
For a regulated financial brokerage, trust is not a soft metric — it is the primary determinant of whether a visitor becomes a client. Every design and architecture decision on this platform was made with trust-building as the primary objective: regulatory disclosures prominently placed, 51 verified Google Reviews integrated directly into the site, partner lender logos presented at institutional quality, and the Managing Directors personally profiled with contact details accessible throughout.
Compliance is Architecture, Not an Afterthought
In a Central Bank of Ireland regulated environment, compliance cannot be handled by simply adding a footer link. The Terms of Business, Data Privacy Notice, and Commission disclosure documents required their own structured framework — ensuring they are instantly accessible to any client or regulator, and that every data capture point on the site has the correct legal underpinning. This was built into the architecture from the outset, not retrofitted.
Breadth of Service Requires Disciplined Information Architecture
Engage's full product range — spanning five mortgage types, seven insurance products, four retirement instruments, three savings and investment vehicles, and four financial planning services — represents a navigational challenge of significant complexity. The solution was a rigorous information architecture that creates clear, direct pathways for each client type, ensuring that breadth of offering feels like a strength rather than a barrier.
